One of our guiding principles is that if you're a startup business, the cost of starting to do business shouldn't put your business immediately in the red. So it was with Cindy Jacobson, a local American who wanted to be able to offer the items she found while traveling the world for sale through a website.

Having been taken for a ride by a few local 'designers' and web hosting companies she was lucky enough to find us. A few weeks after she'd completed her travels and returned to San Miguel de Allende with three suitcases full of goods here website is now up, running, and selling her wares, all at a budget that's not going to break the bank.

Starting simple, the website allows people to buy her goods via paypal. No social networking features, account signups, recommendation lists or categories. Just a quick simple list of things to buy with a photo. And buy people have!

Five days into it and the surprising result is that every day of the Pantone Sky Project brought a new colour. Pantone #7541 and almost complete cloud cover starts the week off.

Alongside getting one of our daftest ideas off the ground (the Pantone Sky Project) we also had our latest website signed off. "IAC Mexico" had their site rebuilt from a Flash presentation to a functional, accessible website. Go take a look!

First day of the Pantone Sky Project

We decided to embark on a reasonably ambitious project: to match the colour of the morning sky to a Pantone reference and log it on our site. Hopefully it'll generate an interesting swatch of colour each year that we can put to who knows what use! So to start us off, todays cloud cover gave us a nice subtle Pantone #5295. Looking forward to some 285s in the near future.
